MASTER CLASS : USING NOIZETRACKER
---------------------------------
Written by Paul Bramwell
In this article I will be telling you the basics of using
Noizetracker and compatible soundtracker editors, and to
complement this I have got the finished module on disk.
I am using Noizertracker version 1.3, which I think are the
best available.
LOADING UP
----------
This couldn't be simpler, boot up the disk then click on the
NOIZE1_3.PRG. This now loads up. Pressing space at the menu takes
you to the main editing screen.
SAMPLES
-------
This is what your song will be based around, so I will tell you
what samples you need and (these are in the module on disk - I'll
tell you how to save them later.)
STARTING OFF
------------
To begin with load up Noizetracker, then goto 'DISK', press your
left mouse button. Now goto 'LOAD MODULE', press your left
button. A fileselector will come up, look through the disk to
find the file 'LITTLE.MOD'.
Once this has loaded, press PLAY, and play around with it a bit,
by removing a channel, the numbers 1-4 at the side etc.
Once you are satisfied, press CLEAR.

COMPOSING
---------
Now, set position at one after clearing everything, then goto
DISK OPS, or DISK, then LOAD SAMPLE. At the fileselector choose a
sample. Then press + to increase the sample number then do the
same again. But we will load the following samples (or
equivalent).
On the disk you should find the following samples, if you dont
load the MODULE as before and save each sample instead of
loading.
Load: HI-HAT, BASSDRUM, BASS, PIANO, SNARE for the moment.
Next issue we will put a 4,4 beat into the first pattern, then
add a bass line to the second, then eventually add a song.
See you next issue (hopefully!)
